San Antonio-based Embrey Partners Ltd., announced today that it has acquired via an affiliate a 3.91-acre site in Sulphur Dell and on which it will develop a apartment building.

Embrey acquired the land from the Metropolitan Sports Authority for $3.45 million.

The North Nashville site is located adjacent to land on which First Tennessee Park, the future home of the Nashville Sounds, is being constructed. Embrey is targeting a 306-unit luxury apartment building to be called The Carillon. A rendering for the building has yet to be released.

The site is bordered by Fourth and Fifth avenues north to the east and west, Jefferson Street to the north and Jackson Street on the south. It is located across Jackson from the land that will accommodate the ballpark and in the bottom right corner of the image at left.

In the release, the company notes it will begin on-site construction “in the near future.” Previously, Embrey had targeted starting on the project by summer’s end.

Embrey Builders, an affiliate of Embrey Partners, will handle construction, with the apartment building to be managed by Embrey Management Services, according to Robert Hunt, Embrey executive vice president of development.

“We are thrilled to close on this property and begin construction on an urban infill project that is as meaningful to us as it is to the city of Nashville,” Hunt said.
