SAN ANTONIO, TX, (October 3, 2017) – San Antonio-based real estate investment company Embrey Partners, Ltd. today announced that Trey Embrey has been named chief executive officer. He retains the title of president. As the result of a long-term succession plan that started almost a decade ago, Founder Walter Embrey continues as chairman, while a newly organized executive team evolves to better reflect the standing of the company as a leader in the national real estate development and investment market.

Garrett Karam, formerly executive vice president of finance, has been named the company’s first chief investment officer. Karam will continue to manage Embrey’s capital markets, investment oversight, and transaction activities, and lead Embrey’s efforts to broaden its investment platform and capital source base.
Rounding out the executive team, real estate veteran Rod Riordan has joined Embrey Partners in a newly created role of chief financial officer. Riordan will be responsible for accounting, forecasting, risk management, corporate insurance, treasury and compliance. He and Karam will work closely with Denise Green, executive vice president of accounting and administration, to ensure a seamless transition of her responsibilities as she retires at the end of 2017. Riordan joins Embrey Partners with 11 years of experience at JPI Companies, where he was executive vice president and finance/accounting partner.
CEO and President Trey Embrey has a bachelor of arts degree in economics from The University of Texas at Austin, and has made his career in real estate for more than 25 years. Karam, a native San Antonian, holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Business Honors Program at The University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in real estate development from Columbia University. Riordan has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from The University of Texas at Austin and a master of business administration degree from Southern Methodist University.
