Embrey Partners Ltd. has begun construction on a new multifamily project in the Mile High City. The 250-unit luxury community will be located within the Ken Caryl Ranch neighborhood in Denver. The first units are slated for occupancy in early 2015. “We’re taking great care in designing this community with scrupulous attention to detail, and (with) a real focus on creating a unique sense of place ...,” explains Jeff Booth, who is serving as the senior managing partner on the project. The Denver project is one of several developments currently under way by locally based Embrey. “It’s a crazy time, but a fun time for us,” says Embrey Partners President Walter “Trey” Embrey III. I talked with Embrey recently about how, 40 years later, the firm his father, Walter M. Embrey Jr., founded has continued to differentiate itself from the herd.A mindset that every single site is unique has been key to the company’s success, he says.“( The multifamily market) is a very competitive environment,” Embrey continues. “We have to figure out how we’re going differentiate our product from our competitors’.“We design projects that live well,” he continues. “We tailor the product to the site, and to the submarket. That has worked out well, not just in our market (San Antonio) but in others.” At present, Embrey Partners has 15 projects in some stage of development — either in the design phase, under construction, or being leased.“We’re having a good time,” Embrey says. “We’re developing great real estate.” Tricia Lynn Silva / Reporter/Project Coordinator- San Antonio Business Journal
